Customers Rave About Kerastase SÉRUM OLÉO-RELAX
We recently came across some reviews for the fabulous Kerastase SÉRUM OLÉO-RELAX which controls volume and provides smoothness, shine, and long-lasting frizz protection. Hair is left glossy and smooth.
"The best one I've ever tried for straightening and relaxing frizz."
"I've been using Kerastase Serum Oleo-Relax for years and my hair literally is a mess without it! I have very thick, processed hair that I like to take good care of. When I apply this after my shower, it relaxes the coarseness and flyaways that drove me nuts before I ever used it! It makes my hair easier to work with and gives a nice shine at the end when dried."
"I have naturally wavy/curly hair that is very reactive to humidity and often looks dry and frizzy even though it is very healthy and not damaged. My hair is shiny and silky, but full of body....not weighted down at all."
"The Oleo-relax is non-greasy, doesn't way the hair down and gives a styled and natural look with out the fly-aways. My hair is soft, movable, and shiney. I have not experienced any build up from using this product and would highly recommend it."
"After hitting 50, I've become increasingly frustrated with my hair. I've been coloring it for a dozen years and have a feeling that it would probably be all gray by now. My hair is fine, but I have a lot of it ... it gets fuller/frizzier each year and no products seem to help calm it down. Oleo Relax does a great job of smoothing my hair, reducing the fullness, leaves a nice silky shine and is not greasy."

Amy's Tips: Glam Up Your Hair with Accessories
An easy way to accessorize hair is to glam up your style either with a bejeweled head band or barrette on one side of hair and lightly spray.
A sparkly barrette looks great if you twist hair up and clip it leaving a few curls spilling out of the twist and secure with bob pins and spray. The barrette will sparkle through your locks.
Homemade Hair Accessory Ideas:
Turn any headband into a holiday hit by adding crystals from the craft store.
Adorn an ordinary barrette or headband with brooches out of your jewelry box; just pin around your clip.
Add some sparkle and bling to an ordinary pony tail holder by piercing a fancy earring into the band.
Happy Holidays Everyone!

How Can I Protect My Skin from Holiday Stress? by Celeste Hilling
Spa Magazine posted an article by Celeste Hilling
Here are Celeste's tips for protecting your skin from holiday stress.
Along with the happiness of the holidays there is often lots of stress, which can lead to less-than-healthy skin. Stress is the No. 1 contributor to free radical damage, which can cause an increase in fine lines, wrinkles, redness, inflammation, breakouts, tired eyes, and sagging skin.
Even the healthiest of multi-taskers will see their skin suffer during all the partying, shopping, and entertaining that is associated with the holiday season.
Now is the time to use products that combat the effects of too little sleep and too much fun. Products with a high potency of antioxidants are the most important preventative tool in your skin care arsenal because they slow the signs of abuse created by free radicals. To prop up tired skin, I recommend:
* 20% Vitamin C serums
* Vitamin A products such as Retinol and Retinyl Palmitate
* Vitamins K, B, and E
* Hydrating and repairing ingredients such as mango, shea butter, aloe, arnica, and skin growth factors
However, remember that the vitamins won't offer any benefit unless the dead surface cells that are blocking the way have been removed. AHAs provide the most effective form of exfoliation by evenly "ungluing" those old cells and allowing the skin to reap the benefits of the antioxidants.
Also, watch your alcohol intake this holiday season because it dehydrates the skin and causes fluid retention under the eyes.

Von Anthony Salon in Frisco Trims the Waste - Dallas Morning News Article
Rita Cook, who writes a weekly "Green" column in the Dallas Morning News, recently featured Von Anthony Salon.
Check out all the ways Rita shares about how Von Anthony Salon has "above and beyond in incorporating eco-friendly additions."
From the article, which can also be read here.
First, there are the SpectraLights over the work areas.
"These lights are the first LED lights engineered for the beauty industry and the greenest lights available on the market," Hovland says. "They save up to 85 percent in energy by virtually eliminating wasted heat."
Additional work lights in the salon are energy-efficient as well, using compact fluorescent bulbs that operate in the daylight spectrum.
"The sign lights are also LED, and the sign is on a timer with a photocell," Hovland says. "The photocell brings the sign on at dark, and the timer turns the sign off after hours so it doesn't waste energy by running all night."
Need a blow-dry? The Freestylist Support System turns dryers on and off when pulled up or down, eliminating wasted energy.
Hovland, who also owns an air-conditioning company, is a member of Green Built Texas. Naturally, there's an energy-efficient air-conditioning system in the salon.
"We were also able to reduce the size of the air-conditioning system because we did not have to compensate for heat from the lights," Hovland says, adding that Von Anthony also has programmable thermostats, vinyl floors made of 20 percent recycled content and a high-efficiency water heater with a digital thermostat that turns the heater off when not in use.
The heater "has a very fast recovery time, is on a circulation pump that delivers instant hot water to all fixtures, and there is no wasted water or wasted energy heating water."
Other appliances in the salon are Energy Star approved.
Stylist Melissa White says she uses less hot water and uses cool water while shampooing.
"This, combined with a cool rinse at the end, will smooth down the cuticle and help save energy at the same time," White says.
Hovland says the salon can even cleanly capture hair clippings; eventually these will be recycled into mats used to clean up oil spills.

Amy's Tips: How to Create An Elegant Chignon
The chignon is a versatile "updo" hairstyle for a special occasion. It shows off your neck and shoulders, and highlights your cheekbones as well as the great earrings or necklace you are wearing!
Here's how to easily create your own chignon for your upcoming holiday parties:
1. Create a deep side part.
2. Gather all of your hair into a low side ponytail and secure with elastic band.
3. Apply a pump of lumiere nutria-sculpt from Kerastase.
4. Now split the pony tail in half and take the first section at the top of pony and twist one time, like you are setting hair around a roller leaving the ends of hair out and secure with bob pin.
5. Once that piece is secure, you can twist the ends of the same section and pin.
6. Repeat with other half of the pony.
7. Spray chignon with Sheer Lacquer.
8. And if you have bangs try wearing them in a side sweep without too much volume.
Watch Amy demonstrate a chignon on Thursday on Fox Good Day!
