Healthy Summer Skin by Dhara Patel (esthetician &
stylist at Von Anthony Salon)
1. Hydration
Human body made up of 70% of liquid and summer heat dries
up skin cells faster, so hydration is a key ingredient for a healthy skin.
Drink up to 6-8 glasses water a day. Consuming foods that contain mostly water
can be just as hydrating for your body as drinking H2O. Eat water-rich fruits
and vegetables such as berries, watermelon, cucumbers, celery, lettuce, bell
peppers - throughout the day.
2. SPF (Sun Protection Factor)
SPF measures sunscreen protection from UVB rays, the kind
that cause sunburn and contribute to skin cancer. So, always protect your skin
with proper SPF before sun exposur.
* SPF 15 blocks 93% of UVB rays
* SPF 30 blocks 97% of UVB rays
So, dermatologists recommend using a SPF 15 or SPF 30
sunscreen
3. EAT your SPF ( Really!)
There's some evidence that oral intake of vitamins C and
E together can limit the potential for sunburn. A salad with Vitamin C rich
citrus, berries, tomato and Vitamin E rich nuts is an ideal SPF meal.
4. Find a lighter Formula
A lot of sunscreen is heavy and oily, and adding these
can contribute to break outs and shine during summer months. So, find something
light, oil-free and streak free.
I highly recommend "Circ-Cell Daily
Protection SPF 43"
