Von Anthony Salon was built with the planet in mind.

Here are some the eco-friendly and sustainable elements we have placed within Von Anthony Salon:

• SpectraLights over the work areas take the guesswork out of coloring, for both colorists and clients by representing the first hour of sunlight (true color). They are the first LED (light emitting diode) lights engineered for the beauty industry and the greenest lights available on the market. They save up to 85% in energy by virtually eliminating wasted heat.

• Our salon cleanly captures hair clippings so our next step will be to send them off to be recycled into mats used to clean up oil spills.

• All of the other work lights in the salon are energy efficient compact fluorescent (CFL) that also operate in the day light spectrum.

• The sign lights are also LED and the sign is on a timer with a photocell. The photocell brings the sign on at dark and the timer turns the sign off after hours so it does waste energy by running all night.

• The Freestylist® Free Floating Dryer Support System is the world's first and only weightless blow-drying system and was designed to reduce repetitive stress injuries. It is installed to hang at shoulder height and is weightless in the hand. It automatically turns on and off when pulled up or down, eliminating wasted energy.

• The Air Conditioning Systems are high efficiency 14 SEER R410a rooftops with programmable thermostats.

• We were also able to reduce the size of the air conditioning systems because we did not have to compensate for heat from the lights.

• The vinyl floors are made of 20% recycled content, they contain low VOC’s they are UV cured for low maintenance and are also LEED applicable.

• The water heater is a 98% high efficient water heater with a variable rate flame and a digital thermostat control that turns the heater off when not in use. It has a very fast recovery time. It is also on a circulation pump that delivers instant hot water to all fixtures during hours of operation. No wasted water or wasted energy heating water.

• The other appliances like the dishwasher, clothes washer and refrigerator are also Energy Star approved.


• All of the plumbing fixtures are low flow.
