Hello 2010! New Year - New Look! Gorgeous Waves

Need a new look for the new year? Here are some ideas to create deep luxurious waves.

1. A waving iron (double barreled iron) from any local beauty supply store is an easy way to style your hair yourself.

2. Or, take half-dollar sections of your dry hair and twist your hair back and forth like ribbon candy. When you get to the top, loop it and stick it with a pin. When all of your hair has been looped, spray it with hair spray and blow dry it for five minutes. Let it cool completely. Take out the loops and your hair will have gorgeous waves.

3. Take golf ball size portions of your hair and twist them in different directions. One toward your face, one away from your face. Let it air dry. This creates, big, loopy, sexy curls.

For those who already have gorgeous waves:

One of the biggest mistakes woman make is to play with their wavy hair while it's drying (scrunching). This creates friction, which creates frizz.

Instead, here's a technique that will eliminate frizz.
After your shower, apply gel or mousse to your hair. Gel for control or mousse for volume. Take a small section of your hair and use a standard comb with fine, small teeth as if you were going to curl ribbon with a pair of scissors. "Curl"/comb through your hair and when you get to the last half inch, shake the strand of hair. The wave will come through and pops your curls into place. The comb will smooth the cuticle layer. Let your hair air dry or use a diffuser. A hair dryer is heat and wind, which causes frizz, so be sure to use a diffuser attachment.
