Amy's Tips: How To Care for Your Long Hair

Inspired by the new Disney movie, Tangled, where Rapunzel sports more than 70 feet of golden hair, Amy Kott Hovland shares these tips for those with long hair:

Sleep in loose braids.

Never brush hair aggressively, even if you are not not tender headed. It causes breakage.

Color your hair with a gloss; it will look 60% shinier.

Get hair cut every 6 to 8 weeks to remove any split ends.

Add layers for volume. One length hair is very heavy, so if you want movement, add some layers.

Thick hair needs face framing layers so you're not consumed by your locks.

Fine textured hair needs long layers all over to create volume.

Long bangs are a must.

Ten women from the production of Rapunzel grew their hair out during the making of the film; ultimately each cut about 10 inches of hair to donate to an organization that makes real-hair wigs for people who’ve lost their hair due to illness.

Do you have long hair you've been growing out to donate? If so, Von Anthony Salon will provide you with a free hair cut!
