Banish dry skin - Winter skin care tips from Von Anthony Salon

The weather outside may be windy and chilly, but your skin doesn't have to suffer. 

The skin care experts at Von Anthony Salon share 5 tips on...

"How to banish dry skin and give your winter skin care regimen a boost."

1.  Avoid using washes that contain harsh sulfates and soaps that strip natural oils from the skin.  Instead, cleanse with gentle, soap free washes such as Sonya Dakar's Soya Wash.


Utilizing the gentle cleansing properties of pure soy, this facial cleanser will leave even the most sensitive skin clean, soft, and radiant, without a trace of harsh soaps or detergents. Your skin will thank you.

2. Use oil-based moisturizers and add a serum to your regimen.
(We carry Hydrasoft Cream made using Shea butter and vitamin E.  Recommended serum: YOUTH! or Seaweed Liposome Gel.)

3. For dry, chapped lips, try exfoliating before hydrating.  This enables optimal hydration from your chapped lip remedies.  Two great ways to accomplish this at home lip treatment are:

Former boy band member Joe Jonas received a toughened up look for the January 2014 issue of NYLON Guys.



He modeling an array of avant-garde streetwear looks, so his stylist wanted to balance that by adding a shiny and loose element to his hair.

Get the look:

SCULPTED WAVES GIVE YOU HOLLYWOOD GLAM WITH STAND OUT SOFTNESS AND SHINE 

 

1. Begin with the "SMOOTH, LEAN LENGTHS" Blow Dry. 

 

2. On the top of your head , elevate and apply POWDER BLUFF to refresh and add volume.

 

3. Create a clean, deep side part to separate the top from the bottom.

 

4. Spray each of the remaining 3 sections thoroughly with LAQUE DENTELLE from top to bottom. Curl each section from the ends to the scalp. Secure in line with the top of your cheekbone. 

 

5. On the top, curl in the same motion and secure just above the previous curls. Let cool to set, then remove the clips. 

 

6. Spray LAQUE DENTELLE directly onto a flat, natural bristle brush and brush through with tension, push waves into place using the end of the brush to sculpt and define. 

 

7. Finish with a fine mist of GLOSS APPEAL for added shine.

At Home Blow Out Tips

Here's how to tame frizz, add volume and have a salon-quality blow out at home.

• Use an ionic hair dryer. This will remove the static charges and will dry the hair without taking out too much moisture. Ionic hair driers leave your hair shiny and smooth.
  
• Always start your blow dry at the front of your head on the fringe area.
  
• First position the blow dryer perpendicular to the brush following the hairline. This allows you to tame any cowlicks or frizziness.
  
• For slide swept bangs place your brush on top of the hair and blow side to side.
  
• Now you can ruff dry the rest of the hair to remove the dampness, then it is time to get organized:
• Place a small section of hair on the bristle area of your brush and allow it to fall freely. If it doesn't then the hair is still too wet and you will have to work hard to style it by following the blow dryer with your brush.
